On arrival at Kathmandu-Nepal International Airport via various airlines, our guide and staff receive you for a short transfer to the heart of Kathmandu city. Where your hotel is located, after checking into your rooms and then meet other members of the trek at the hotel lobby for briefing. Regarding the wonderful Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking. The morning after good breakfast, enjoy a tour of Kathmandu places of great interest where our city guide leads you with a short drive and walks to visit famous historical and religious monuments with old palaces. Most of the ancient temples, Stupas, and monasteries including royal courtyards are listed in world heritage sites in the chapter of fascinating wonders. After an enjoyable back to the hotel, for the final meeting and preparations for the trek to Tamang Heritage Trail.
Start early morning after a good breakfast, for an interesting drive beyond Kathmandu valley to reach high cooler Himalayan hills at Dhunche, headquarter town of Rasuwa district and entrance to Langtang National Park. From here a long descend on a zig-zag turn to reach Syabrubesi village for an overnight stop in the best available local lodge. Herewith time to browse around the village and witness the local culture of Tamang the hill tribe of Langtang Himal range practice Buddhism and Bon sect of pre-Buddhist.
The first-day walk from Syabrubesi village starts taking a high old path avoiding the motorable road, where the trail climbs for few hours, and then on a pleasant winding path to follow terraced farm fields and smaller villages to reach an overnight destination at Gatlang. One of the largest villages within the Rasuwa district.On arrival welcomed with the traditional greeting of Buddhist prayer silk scarf called ‘Khada’, offering local home-made spirits Chang (a brew / local beer made from rice or millet grains). After a small ceremony transfer to a nice cottage which is known as Home Stay for visitors. Managed and run by the village community. Evening enjoys a local traditional folk cultural show of the Tamang villagers, the Tamang people are famous for songs, tribal folk music, and dance followed by nice typical Nepalese and Tamang dinner, served by the family that runs HomeStay.
Enjoy the rest of the day exploring around Gatlang village and observe the ancient heritage way of farm life of immense cultures and great interest. Tour of the village monastery adorned with various Buddha statues and holy books, the interior prayer hall with elaborate religious arts and painting.With time to mix and interact with native Tamang, and learn more of local customs and history of Tamang people. Where Ta means horse and ‘mango mug for a ferocious rider as Tamang people were horse cavalry soldiers of Tibetan and Mongol emperor. Then they drifted to migrate on the high hills of Nepal Himalaya some thousands of years ago. Tamang population at present is 5.6 % within Nepal, which is over 1.3 million in 2001, increasing slowly to 1,539,830 as 2011 census. Follows Buddhism religion similar to its Tibetan ancestor, also practice Bon an ancient cult, before Buddhism was introduced in Tibet and Nepal. All houses festooned with Buddhist prayer colorful flags called Lung-Ta or wind-horse, of blue, white, red, green, and brown with a prayer printed. Each color designates sky, cloud/water, thunder/fire, vegetation, and brown of earth.
Enjoy early morning grand views of Ganesh and Langtang Himal peaks, then bid farewell to the happy and friendly villagers of Gatlang. As the walk begins with a slow climb into a small nice forested area to reach Tatopani village for an overnight stay. A place with a natural hot spring, hence the village name ' Tatopani’ enjoy refreshing bathe and dip in the hot warm pool and then explore around this quaint farm village
From Tatopani after a refreshing time in its hot springs and exploring the village, as walk climb high at Nagthali Danda, which is above 3, 310 m and 10, 859 feet high, located on an open grassland with a grand vista of the central and western Himalayas. Stopping at delightful Brimdang village for lunch en-route, and then continue climb to Nagthali Danda. Then, continue downhill to Thuman, a Tamang village with friendly people who loves singing and dancing. You will be invited to join in the merriment.
Walk today on a much flatter section of the trail, as descend reach you at Timure, which is on the trail of an old trade route to Tibet and this village is not far away to the border, just three hours’ walking distance. After lunch at Timure village, the walk continues to Briddim for overnight, another nice Tamang village, where you'll stay in a local home-stay, truly a unique experience. Accommodation and meals are offered at local houses on a rotational basis, so you can be sure that your stay is enjoyable.
On our final day of the marvelous walk, the morning starts near the road head with more downhill, as walk follows farm fields with nice tended terraces to reach at Syabrubesi for last overnight stop around Rasuwa district and Langtang Himal.`
Morning exciting drive to Kathmandu, on leaving Syabrubesi village heading towards winding ups to reach Dhunche and then downhill on the same interesting highway to reach back at Kathmandu and then check into respective hotels, with afternoon free to enjoy personal activities and shopping souvenirs
Your last day in Nepal, enjoying a memorable adventure of a lifetime experience on Tamang Heritage Trail Trekking, and then as time for your international flight. Our staff transfer you to the airport for homeward bound
